"Veterans Helping Veterans"

Did you know that there are over 600,000 homeless people in the United States? Did you know that almost 275,000 of those homeless people are men and women who served their country in times of war and times of peace? Did you know that the US Department of Veterans Affairs does not automatically provide medical and other types of services to every veteran?

Most veterans who are homeless are male and single. Few services are provided from local, state and federal programs for homeless males, veteran or otherwise.

Who takes care of the veterans who do not qualify for VA care and benefits? Who offers them a place to sleep, hot meals, and helps them get back into the work force? Who offers these veterans a hand up, not a hand out?

For the most part, that help comes from private, non-profit corporations and foundations like the Veterans Assistance Foundation.

Providing services takes money. Foundations and corporations fight hard for a share of big federal state and private grants. Fund raising is another way to raise money to provide services to the men and women who joined the military and served their country faithfully. The Veterans Assistance Foundation relies on the generosity of people like you to help end the national disgrace of homeless veterans.

The Foundation would appreciate your donation. It gives us the chance to continue to help those veterans, who need a hand up, not a hand out. You can make a tax-deductible donation two ways, which is explained below.  If you cannot make a donation at this time,  please contact the Veterans Assistance Foundation Corporate Office for programs for homeless veterans.
